Landscape Design & InstallationOur first steps are to review your goals for your landscaping project, your preferences for materials to be used, and to determine the scale and condition of the site. With this information we can prepare a budget for the project. From there we will create a design and provide you with a list of materials and costs. The plan will include preliminary views of your site incorporating the elements you have chosen - patios, walkways, walls, turf areas and plantings. Often we can divide the plan into sections that can be completed independently over a number of seasons so that costs can be spread out over several years. During the installation process our supervisors will be consulting with you at every step of the project . We strive for your complete satisfation and we will be glad to answer any questions you have along the way. Some of the major elements to consider when planning your landscape project are:
With the variety of landscape materials rising steadily, numerous options exist in size, shape, color, and texture. Links on this page will direct you to sites that will give you some ideas about the possibilites, or you can call us for brochures. Patios & WalkwaysPatios and walkways are important elements to a landscape design, giving you access to your yard and allowing you to enjoy the beauty of your lawn and plantings. Whether it's a simple bench on a path or a full patio, they create interesting and relaxing spaces that invite you to spend time your yard.
Flagstone and brick pavers can provide a durable and beautiful alternative to concrete for patios and walkways. For ideas, check out the sites for Buechel Stone , Unilock, and Paveloc. Retaining Walls & StepsAlthough a retaining wall's primary function is to stabilize a slope and protect it from erosion, walls are also a great way to create an appealing variation to the landscape. Many clients with flat property will request small decorative walls, due to the added year-round vertical interest. Retaining walls and connecting steps can provide beautiful backdrops for a perennial plantings, level areas for landscaping, or borders around a house or outdoor room.
Interlocking block, flagstone, cobblestone, and timbers are popular materials for wall and steps. To get an idea of the possibilities, visit the sites for Buechel Stone and Unilock, both providers of high-quaility landscaping materials. Ponds & WaterfallsAdding ponds and waterfalls bring sound and movement into the landscape. A waterfall can connect large ponds or can be built within a wall without a pool of water - "pondless". When the goal is to add drama, a tall falls can be the perfect addition.
For most home owners, a small cascading waterfall is preferred for the tranquil atmosphere it provides. Interest and entertainment can be extended by adding tropical fish and exotic water plants. Wooden StructuresWooden structures can be used in the garden to provide support for plant material and to define the elements of your "outdoor room." An arching arbor is a subtle way to frame the entryway to a garden or patio, while adding a vertical feature to support roses, clematis and other climbing plants.
Pergolas are another way to frame your outdoor room and add shade. Landscape MaintenanceWe maintain many residential and commercial properties all around
